This course is designed to provide opportunities for all youth support workers including full and part-time, paid or voluntary, permanent or temporary, to gain recognition for the underpinning knowledge relevant to the national occupational standards in youth work. It looks at various aspects of working with youths in various areas. The units includes: relationships with young people, reflective practice, young people as active citizens, values, ethics and self esteem, quality assurance and organisations that support young people. On completion, participants can progress onto Level 3.
Participants require sufficient literacy and organisational ability to complete assignments to the required standards.
