About Writtle College

Overview
Writtle College Overview Image

Established in 1893, Writtle College, a partner of the University of Essex, has been providing an outstanding academic service for over 100 years. Writtle has numerous international links across five continents, including North America, South and East Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia, and these are continuing to expand.

As a member of our postgraduate community, you will be supported by the Postgraduate School which looks after the interests of students on taught courses as well as those studying by research. The School is home to the key functions of the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Postgraduate Co-oordinator and Chair of the Research Committee.

There is a real community atmosphere on campus, with students from over 50 different nations, making Writtle a lively and cosmopolitan place to be. The campus is surrounded by its own estate, farm and gardens serving as a 'green laboratory' for students. Chelmsford is just two miles away with a wealth of facilities and quick (40 minute) rail access to London.
