This programme is intended to support frontline staff working with children, young people and families or those looking to work in this sector; it is suitable for those who work: in children's centres; as social work assistants; as foster carers and in residential care; in youth and community settings; youth offending teams and those who work in the voluntary sector supporting children, young people and families; all applicants must have the support of their organisation to participate in the programme.
Year 1: Effective communication in the workplace; learning to learn in study and at work; legal and ethical responsibilities; education related modules cover: child development; behaviour management; the reflective practitioner. Year 2: Equality and diversity in practice; leading and managing people; assessment for learning; multi-agency working; special educational needs and the reflective practitioner.
