Year 1: Understanding professional and academic texts; The growing child: aspects of child development; Promoting the education and well-being of children and families with additional needs; typical option modules: literacy development; issues in primary mathematics; bringing up children: parents, care workers and the state; history of the welfare state. Year 2: Childhood and learning: contrasting perspectives; Integrated children's services and interprofessional working: the new environment: Critically reflecting on practice; typical option modules: effective teaching in diversity; curriculum development; participation and rights for children and young people; creative development through art, craft and design.
