The Working Men's College (WMC) was founded in 1854 and was associated with the Co-operative Movement and the hristian Socialists stemming from the same tradition as The Workers Educational Association. The Working Men's College is the oldest surviving adult education institute in Europe.
Originally based in Great Ormond Street, we’ve been on this listed site in Camden since 1904. The Working Men's College merged with the Frances Martin College for Working Women in 1967. We have continued to develop the tradition of liberal education and today The Working Men's College serves the whole community with women, unemployed and refugee students forming the majority of the student body.
Working Men's College, the college for women and men in Camden NW1, is committed to remaining and growing as a centre of excellence, following its recent fantastic inspection report which put us in the top 15% of colleges inspected. With about 8,000 enrolments on courses geared to enable you to learn and enjoy, we are still small enough to know all our students and respond to their individual needs.
