The University of Liverpool offers a Russell Group education in one of the UK’s most exciting and affordable student cities.
The programme connects womens writing with womens spirituality, offering a number of critical, theoretical and theological routes into discussing the place of spirituality in female experience; it explores this territory from the perspective of womens spiritual engagement, and also looks at the tradition of womens writing in discourses such as letters, journals, poems, exemplary biography and devotional treatises; it offers the opportunity to study a wide range of literary material, from medieval times to the present day, alongside relevant feminist theory on literature and religion; each taught module has a specific focus, reflecting different aspects of the courses remit and the interests and expertise of the staff concerned; students are encouraged to develop their own particular areas of interest within the scope of the programme in individual module essays and in the final dissertation.
