This course is designed for those who would like to develop their all round creativity and their approach to image making and taking. On this course they will embrace creative process by playfully using a combination of visual art mediums (with an emphasis on digital stills photography) to develop different ways of seeing, to explore the everyday from fresh perspectives and to portray the ordinary as the extra-ordinary.

You will ‘make’ and ‘take’ through fun activities, experiences and challenges designed to support you in expanding your creative approaches to image making. You will use cameras, mobile phones, scanners, light, mark-making, editing techniques and image manipulation. It will mostly be ‘get stuck in’ and hands-on with a little photography theory thrown in – just the right amount to support you in your image making in a way that suits you.

This course will suit those wanting to develop their visual eyes, those wanting to expand their approach to image creation and those new to digital photography. It will also be ideal for teachers and trainers who want to refresh their approach to engaging others in the visual world. It will support those who like to learn by doing. The emphasis is on drawing out your creativity, your artistic flair and increasing the ways in which you see things; underpinned by the appropriate technical aspects and practicalities.

By the end of the course you should feel more confident in your creative abilities, found vehicles to help you generate ideas, have a better understanding of the elements of photography, feel playful and excited about the images you create and in turn have a more creative approach to anything you undertake.
