The focus of this course is a synthesis of innovative graphic imagery and techniques, together with new concepts in digital media; this involves the origination of creative visual ideas, which encompass both the aesthetic and technological demands of design solutions, produced in appropriate media.
Year 1: Initial studies develop students� core skills of visualisation, problem solving and realisation using traditional and state-of-the-art media; they cover elements of web, interactive graphics, television and film titles/effects and animation for the web. Year 2: Students can spend time investigating specific areas and exploring their context; students gain specialist techniques using industry-standard software. Year 3: Gives students the opportunity to create a project from scratch in a chosen subject or theme, and develop their ideas into a finished product; this aspect also develops students� project management skills and they experience the process that makes their ideas come to life; students take a professional design practice module that covers areas like copyright, small business set-up, portfolio preparation and interview techniques, so they have the skills to realise their creative talents in a business environment.
