This course provide flexibility, knowledge, skills and motivation as a basis for future studies and career development within the animal care industry. On completion of the course students are given support and guidance regarding potential career opportunities which includes Veterinary surgery, Pedigree breeder, animal rescue, quarantine establishment, animal trainer, animal beautician, kennel or cattery, trade supplier, animal collection or animal welfare officer and an appropriate Foundation Degree at Newcastle College.
Assessment method
Students will be assessed through written tests, assignments, oral presentations, case studies, projects and work experience placement within the animal care industry in one day per week.
Entry Requirements
Students should possess to a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or a GNVQ Intermediate or First Diploma or National Certificate in a related subject or equivalent qualifications.
