Course Description
The aim of the course - To equip students with the knowledge and skills required to gain the AMTRA Professional Certificate, which leads to inclusion on the register of suitably qualified persons (SQPs), eligible to authorise the sale of medicines classified as POM-VPS and NFA-VPS. Course Content - equine and companion animal anatomy & physiology; causes and control of diseases and parasites in equine and companion animals; legislation relating to sale, storage & supply of animal medicines. The course is delivered over 5 days. At the start, students will attend a three day training course with participatory lectures, group work and case studies. Students then go back to their workplace and return two months later to undertake the examination
Course Fees
£350.00. Trainees may be able to reclaim up to 75% of this fee by applying to DEFRA for funding under the Vocational Training Scheme. Contact the Nottingham Rural Development Service on 0115 929 1191 to find out whether you are eligible to apply
Assessment method
The course is assessed by means of a written examination and a short oral exam.
