Course Description
During this course, participants will study: laboratory diagnostic aids; medical nursing; diagnostic imaging; anaesthesia; surgical nursing general or theatre practice; fluid management; exotics; veterinary stock management.
Assessment method
Participants will be assessed by written examinations, practical examinations and portfolio
Entry Requirements
Participants must be over 17 years of age and employed within a Training Practice (TP) in order to enrol as a Student Veterinary Nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. In addition, they must hold five GCSE passes at C or above; these must include English Language, Mathematics and a Science plus two others. Alternatively, they must have achieved the British Veterinary Nursing Associations Animal Nursing Assistant Certificate (Pre-Veterinary Nursing Certificate). Other qualifications such as the National Diploma in Animal Care can be used as an equivalent.
