About this course

In this course, students will gain basic beauty therapy skills and training in cosmetic sales and reception work. They will study areas including health and safety in the salon, introduction to the hair and beauty sector, basic manicure and pedicure treatments, working with others in the hair and beauty sector, basic skin care and make-up application, basic head massage. After successful completion of the course they may progress to the VTCT level 2 diploma in beauty specialist techniques.

Additional entry requirements

Students must have two GCSEs at grade E or above, including English. They will need to purchase salon wear, a basic equipment kit and textbooks and pay a fee towards the cost of consumables.
