The multi-disciplinary courses offered by the School of Social and Political Sciences are taught by scholars at the forefront of academic thinking.
Students on this programme study 4 core courses: 3 in methodology and one foundational course in urban policy; as well as optional courses chosen from a number in urban studies and other selected courses offered at the university; students also write a dissertation on a topic of their choice, under the guidance of a specialist.
Social science statistics 1; qualitative methods; introduction to social theory for researchers; changing cities and neighbourhoods; optional courses offered by Urban Studies; regenerating cities: strategies and evaluation; economic development and employment; sustainable housing development; public policy and fiscal austerity; evaluation of public policy; and remaking urban neighbourhoods; students can also choose from courses in the other subjects in the School of Social & Political Sciences.
