Course Description
The Urban Design programme is concerned with the contemporary urban situation and the response of practising designers today. The focus is broad and includes city centres, the urban centres of smaller towns and villages and the suburbs. Best practice in European cities and internationally provides lessons, but not necessarily a template, for the design, management and maintenance of urban environments. It is aimed to teach students skills and technologies in the appraisal and resolution of problems posed by the built environment in towns and cities. Collaboration with local, national and international planners, architects and developers will be used to ensure the currency of the design agendas addressed and benchmark design approaches to the best of current practice.
Course Fees
2007-08: Full time £3,250, Part time £217 per 12 CATS point unit.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should be a graduate architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers & any other discipline interested in becoming a practising urban designer having the knowledge, skills & commitment to benefit from the programme.
