Introduction to University Of Kent
Kent has over 18,000 students and is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting universities in the country. Kent was ranked in the top 10 for student satisfaction in the Sunday Times University Guide 2010 and has some of the best teaching staff in the country. In the 2009 National Student Survey, Kent scored 88 per cent for the quality of teaching and 87 per cent for overall course satisfaction. In the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008) it was noted that 97 per cent of staff work in schools or centres where research is classed as world-leading.
What's on Offer
The 300-acre Canterbury campus, founded in 1965, lies just over a mile from Canterbury city centre. It is a vibrant and friendly campus with an excellent social life and superb facilities, including a nightclub, cinema, theatre and sports centre. The Medway campus is only 30 miles from London, and has an amazing range of buildings and high-tech facilities. Medway also has a buzzing social life and a brand new, Olympic-standard sports and leisure centre just a few minutes from the campus.
Kent offers a wide range of excellent courses, spanning the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities at both its Canterbury and Medway campuses and has a specialist part-time centre in Tonbridge. Kent has a cosmopolitan community with students of all ages and nationalities. The welcoming and supportive environment ensures that all students get the best out of their time at Kent. Degree ceremonies are held in the historic cathedrals of Canterbury and Rochester.
