'My first year as a student has been brilliant. I am more independent and love the fact that I am in a place where I can study a subject I am enthusiastic about but also learn about life. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone but if I had to go back to September and do the year again I wouldn’t change a thing!

There is so much to do on campus, the Venue nightclub is especially good on Fridays and Saturdays, and the bars in the colleges also have special nights. In the town there is The Works, Chicago’s and Canterbury has loads of bars and pubs.

However it’s not just about pubbing or clubbing, I’ve taken part in lots of the extra curricular stuff available – if you’re musical then there is the University Chorus. I’ve also taken advantage of the sports clubs on offer and have become really involved with the Fencing Club – I was on the Women’s Team this year and we won the South East Region BUSA Competitions.'
