The University of Huddersfield was founded in 1841 and has been established as a university since 1992. Excellent employment prospects and superb student accommodation, coupled with comparatively low living costs, attract students from all over the UK, the European Union and more than 80 countries worldwide. More than 1,000 of the university’s 16,000 students are from outside of the UK.

Huddersfield is located in the county of West Yorkshire, between Manchester and Leeds. It has a population of approximately 115,000. The campus is next to the town’s main shopping area and combines modern and 19th-century buildings. The Huddersfield Narrow Canal flows through the campus.
