We have over 24,500 students, which include more than 2,000 from overseas, representing more than 85 countries. We are a truly international community. The University of Hertfordshire opens the door to a wide and fascinating range of subjects such as Fine Art, Business Studies, Psychology and Aerospace Engineering. Students enjoy high quality teaching with many of our degrees accredited by professional bodies.

The 2008 National Research Assessment Exercise results show that our research is of an exceedingly high standard. Hertfordshire is judged as world-leading, offering first-class study facilities, including our award-winning Learning Resource Centres open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and specialist subject facilities including an astronomical teaching observatory and a medical simulation centre.

Need to Know

The University's two campuses, College Lane and de Havilland Campus are less than one km apart and linked by pathways, cycle routes and the University shuttle bus. School of Law was previously situated in the centre of St Albans, but from summer 2011 our new £10m Law Court Building will be found on our de Havilland campus.

The University is easily accessible, only half an hour from lively central London, and within reach of all four of the capital's international airports. Students enjoy a vibrant social life with a thriving range of clubs, societies and Student Union events. Our 1,500 capacity entertainment venue, the Forum Hertfordshire, provides an exciting contemporary venue with the best in entertainment, bars, shopping and eateries.

Our £15m Sports Village boasts some of the best university sports and fitness facilities in the UK and our impressive 460 seat Weston Auditorium is one of the region's most important arts venues.
