University Of Exeter Overview
With nearly 13,500 students, the University of Exeter is big enough to offer all the facilities you would expect from a leading campus-based university, along with a vibrant social and cultural scene. The University of Exeter is one of the UK’s most popular universities and is set on a beautiful campus overlooking the city. The teaching buildings, halls of residence, library, sports hall, bars and the city centre are all within walking distance of each other.
A safe, student-friendly city, Exeter is consistently rated one of the best places to live in the UK for the quality of its facilities, low crime rate and fantastic countryside. A historic cathedral city, Exeter is attracting significant new investment with a £200m new shopping centre and major companies like the Met Office choosing to relocate here. Yet it retains its human scale, youthful, fun culture and relaxed atmosphere. When you want to escape from the city, sandy beaches, moorland and some of the most stunning countryside in Britain are a short journey away. Devon is one of Europe’s most popular holiday destinations - as a student you’ll be able to enjoy it all year round.
You can also choose to study at our £100m Cornwall Campus near Falmouth, which offers the very latest in academic, social and residential facilities and a vibrant student community.
What's on offer
For a University of its size, The University of Exeter offers a very extensive range of programmes and students have a great deal of choice and flexibility in choosing their degree programme. The St Luke’s Campus (University of Exeter) provides the base for the School of Education, the School of Sport and Health Sciences and for the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, a partnership between the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth. All other programmes are based at the beautiful Streatham Campus (University of Exeter). Both campuses are about a 15-minute walk from the centre of the City. All subjects taught at undergraduate level are rated 4, 5 or 5* and 98 per cent of academic areas are regarded as producing research of national or international excellence (RAE 2001), and we have achieved excellent results in the National Student Survey.
Key skills are integrated into all our undergraduate programmes and ensure students gain not just subject knowledge but skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills that are valued by employers.
