Puidensiana Makoyo, BA (Hons) Business Studies

“Working and studying together is something you have to be fully committed to,” says Piudensiana Makoyo, currently balancing part-time study for a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies with full-time work as Assistant Sales Manager at the Docklands Crowne Plaza Hotel. “But it’s wonderful to see how my hard work has paid off, both in terms of my education and my career. I’d already started my degree when I applied for the position at Crowne Plaza, and I’m sure that it helped impress my interviewers.”

Piude recently received a team award after winning a UEL Business School marketing competition, run in partnership with Thames Water. “My team were delighted to receive this recognition. It was a very interesting project that got us thinking about marketing in different ways. It’s a great example of how my degree is challenging me, broadening my experience, and giving me the opportunity to put my theoretical studies into significant practical use.”
