The University of Dundee is a 'Campus in the City' - described by the Virgin Alternative Guide to UK Universities as 'the friendliest in Scotland'. Every aspect of student life - accommodation, lectures, library, students’ union, sports centre - is on one site, close to the city centre and the cultural quarter (Rep Theatre, Contemporary Arts Centre, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and galleries) that has grown up around the University.

Most of the accommodation is in modern single study, computer-networked, bedrooms with en suite facilities within apartments on the main campus. Each self-catering residence has communal recreational facilities and a launderette. Private accommodation near the campus is plentiful and reasonably priced.

The University has invested heavily in the infrastructure and technology for e-learning, to deliver one of the most innovative teaching experiences in Scotland. Recent campus developments include a library extension with flexible learning spaces, silent study areas and a cafe.
