“Art is the revelation of the secret laws of nature, which without it would remain forever hidden.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe This one day course introduces you to drawing and painting in the woodland with natural materials and presents different approaches to perceiving and sensing what you see. In SPRING we will sketch the emerging new growth, bluebells and winters remnants. In SUMMER we will connect with the trees and clouds and play with natural mediums. In AUTUMN we will draw the glorious colours, leaves and majestic trees. This is a three part (series) course and will have a day in each season (except winter) and you can take one or all three. Connect to the earth through the vehicle of art during the seasonal changes of spring summer and autumn. (Can be taken individually) Discover yourself by drawing in through your senses the delights of nature and expressing these on paper. Using nature’s mediums charcoal, sanguine and natural pigments we will describe what we feel, see, touch, taste and hear in this beautiful ancient woodland. Experience a day of delights to stir the senses and heal the heart and give yourself a gift to take home with you. The course is open to everyone regardless of perceived ability and up to a maximum of 12 people and will be carried by Ursula Stone a local painter, art therapist and art teacher. All materials are provided. This course will run from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm with tea and coffee breaks and a gourmet lunch will be provided. Special requirements: Warm casual clothing and suitable footwear for the woods. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS COURSE IS WEATHER DEPENDENT. If the weather is bad, this course date will be moved to Tuesday 24th July.
