Course Description
The 3D Animation course is an intensive and complete qualification in 3D modelling, rendering and animation. As such, it provides the ideal foundation qualification for individuals who wish to pursue 3D design and production and related fields as serious career options. The 3D Animation Diploma Programme enables students to model, animate and render complex computer generated graphics and movies. The course content and structure encourage students to learn the theoretical background to the topics covered and to apply this, creatively, to the production process. Individual practical time and experimentation is an essential component of the course. The 3D Animation Diploma aims to provide students with a thorough and flexible education in computer generated motion graphics and visual effects. Assessment method
The SAE 3D Animation Diploma is widely recognized in the creative media industry. This programme is assessed using a 20-point marking scheme (as used by certain UK universities). This assessment is split equally over practical work and theory. The theoretical component is made up of a number of progress tests as well as a major final examination and project. The practical element includes the on-going presentation of a range of documented projects. In order to qualify for the 3D Animation Diploma, candidates need to reach an overall assessed grade of 16 or above.

Entry Requirements
Minimum age 17. Minimum of two grade C GCSEs (or equivalent) or adult entry (21 years of age) or Qantm Basic Media Certificate. Spoken and written English.
