Course Description
The flagship Accounting and Financial Management programme provides an academically rigorous study of the principal accounting and finance disciplines. It also has a strong vocational orientation, providing significant exemptions from the examinations of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

The current fee for 2007 and 2008 is £1,875/term, we have 4 terms per year (8 in total for our 2 year degree programmes). Assessment method
This course aims not just to teach you to pass the exams but to teach you about concepts which will be useful to you all of your life. Assessment can be in the form of: formal examinations, course work, essays, group presentations, projects' time constrained computing assessments, depending on the objectives of the course. Weighting of assessed work normally ranges from 20% to 40% of the final course mark, although in some cases the weighting may be as much as 60%. The requirements for course work are set out in the materials provided to you at the beginning of the course. Your work will be marked by the course tutor and returned to you with feedback. Tutors will also help you to prepare for the examinations by providing revision classes. Students are required to undertake formal examinations every six months (in June and December) and those students who perform exceptionally well could be eligible for an academic prize. A number of courses have individual or group projects.
Entry Requirements
3 grade Cs at A2 level (240 UCAS points) or equivalent. Minimum of 5 subjects, including mathematics at grade C or above at GCSE, or equivalent. Students are encouraged to attend interview as part of the selection process. Entry requirements for mature students can be very flexible. Strong motivation, linked to life experience, can be a key factor in your ability to complete a course successfully. You may not, therefore, always be expected to meet standard course requirements. We like to interview mature applicants wherever possible.
