Course Description
Previous study of geology not necessary. The degree is similar to Applied Geology, but with additional emphasis on inter-relationships between geology, engineering & the environment. Particular importance is attached to the use of computer design techniques including AutoCAD, GIS, and rock, soil and groundwater engineering geological design software. Field & project work is a key component. Provides students with an ideal background for employment in civil, environmental, mining & petroleum engineering sectors.

Assessment method
The assessment profile for most modules includes both formal written examination and continuous assessment which may take the form of assignments, laboratory exercises and/or field work. The overall exam: continuous assessment ratio is approximately 60:40.
