Course Description
The course at Dundee is flexible in nature which allows you to develop a personal creative 'language' in undertaking your work. The project programme forms the backbone of the course which is augmented by creative studies such as life drawing and CAD as well as theoretical topics such as architectural and design history, business studies and construction. Special Features: You are encouraged to join 'IDEAS': the interior design student society which arranges social and other events in the Department.; In Levels 1 and 2 you join in organised visits alternatively to London and a European destination. In Level 3 you join your peers from the School of Design in a one week trip to New York, Prague or Barcelona; Regular interior design exchange programmes are available in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands; Students undertake an industrial placement between Levels 3 and 4 which has included working in UK and international design offices; Final year graduates can exhibit at New Designers, London.

Assessment method
One-to-one tuition and small group discussions and critiques are the most important features of teaching which provide essential dialogue between students and staff. Project work is reviewed mid way through and assessed at the end of each level. Some theoretical subjects are assessed by essays and exams.
Entry Requirements
Relevant art and design qualification (Diploma in Foundation Studies, BTEC National Diploma, appropriate GCE A Levels, relevant Access course, or equivalent), plus a portfolio of your existing work. Some universities and colleges also provide 'Entry Profiles' which give applicants to higher education more detailed information on the courses they want to study, qualifications required, selection criteria, etc. There are strict deadlines for application to UCAS courses. The closing date for receiving on-time applications for Route B courses is in March. Please consult the UCAS website for details.
