Course Description
This one year programme offers students who have completed a foundation degree or higher national diploma in any vocationally related discipline an opportunity to develop their skills and plans for creating their own business while at the same time gaining a valuable degree qualification. You will work with business development agencies, entrepreneurs, mentors and other support services alongside teaching staff from across Northumbria University. Assessed by a range of practical tasks the programme develops your understanding of and competence in key areas of business planning, managing people, managing information, marketing, finding and managing property, design and creativity, taxation and financial management.The programme offers practical support with setting up your own hatchery office facilities.

Assessment method
Unlike more traditional undergraduate programmes, this highly practical degree assesses your performance through a range of tasks directly related to creating and managing a new business. This centres on the creation of a business plan and personal portfolio giving you the opportunity to demonstrate and critically evaluate your skills as a future entrepreneur.

Entry Requirements
Entry is normally through an HND or Foundation Degree in an appropriate subject, or equivalent. Particular grades and/or units may be required.
