Course Description
This course will enable you to create a business plan appropriate for small business in a search of venture capital and to prepare sales, expenditure, profit, cash flow and balance sheet forecasts. During this course you create and present a marketing plan for potential investors; analyse business performance from financial statements; create budget and actuals management tools to monitor a range of financial ratios for the business; identify the benefits and risks of using Open Office desktop IT applications versus MS Office IT applications; identify strategies for ensuring consistency across the desktop in a typical small organisation or business. Credits from this course may be used towards the Diploma in Open Source IT Applications or the Diploma in IT Applications.

Learners submit a portfolio of coursework for assessment. Assessment is 100% by coursework. There are no examinations.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be over 21. Basic PC and English literacy skills are required. Good office skills and knowledge of spreadsheets are required. Understanding basic company accounts is desirable.
