Course Description
This course focuses particularly on the plants used in gardening, including the skills and techniques required for their production, maintenance and association with other plants, from soil science and landscaping to organic practice, pests and diseases. Students progressing through the programme have the opportunity to enrol on to a BA Degree in Garden Art and Design at Leeds Metropolitan University (for one year further study).
Entry Requirements
Those who are aged 16-18 normally need GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C, plus either: one A Level at E, AVCE at E, Advanced GNVQ, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3 or an Access Certificate. Those aged 21 plus need no formal qualifications. We will interview you to assess whether you are likely to benefit from the course.
Venue Description
This centre is situated in a more rural setting and facilities here include the new hair and beauty therapy suites, park lane sports academy including sports pitch, horticulture and conservation facilities including greenhouses, wind turbine, reed beds, wildflower meadows, etc, a new animal care centre, services to business department.
