Timetable
Attendance is a regular two-hour session each week, with some additional tutorials. There is also a one-day induction event in October and a one-day conference around February each year.

Course Description
The course is a combination of taught units of study, work-based learning and an annual three-streamed Business Conference. The course was developed in collaboration with major employers in the region, the curriculum is flexible, relevant to employers and prepares the successful student for entry to an honours degree course, which can be completed through a further 18 months of part-time study. This course is available at the following locations: Alton College, Chichester College, Itchen College, South Downs College, Isle of Wight College and at the University of Portsmouth Business School. The first year covers a range of subjects at introductory level including how to manage information and financial resources and managing people. There is a substantial work-based learning component and students begin compiling a portfolio of work as part of the Manager Development strand that runs throughout the three years of the course. There is also an annual Business Conference - a one-day event including themed workshops and presentations by visiting speakers. The second year covers marketing and the business environment, and students undertake further work-based learning and extend the Manager Development portfolio. In the final year students learn about project management, the development of management skills and what creates business excellence and students complete the Manager Development portfolio.

Entry Requirements
60 tariff points from a 6 unit award; NVQ Level 3; or professional qualifications. Mature applicants are welcome.
