Course Description
In an increasingly secular society, what diverse and often new meanings does the sacred have in London? And how important is the sacred in creating new images of the capital? This module explores these questions through studying architectural sites, from national monuments and spaces of consumption to sporting arenas and the discrete religious spaces of London's multi-ethnic communities. Alongside several site visits, this module investigates their representation through text, photography, news media and film.
