Course Description
In this unit we shall learn how philosophy helps to shed light on what is at first sight a perplexing problem: just what is it that transforms an artefact into a work of art? We shall explore this problem with the use of examples of art, especially modern art - we shall look at artworks at the Sainsbury Centre and will make a trip to the Tate Modern.
