Students meet for lectures four morning a week, with interactive sessions and seminars scheduled on 4 afternoons. Wednesdays are reserved for field trips and private study.
Course Description
This course enables students to follow a new type of undergraduate degree that allows them to study at Christie's Education, London and in the History of Art department of Glasgow University. A level of knowledge is achieved which can lead them either directly into employment or into the higher education system of the UK or elsewhere. Students study on the Early European Art course in year one, then on the Fine and Decorative Arts course in year two. In their second year, students complete an exhibition project in the spring and take the Christie's cataloguing exam. Students must achieve an acceptable level of marks at the end of each year in order to progress. This course is taught through a mixture of formal lectures and more interactive sessions led by tutors and specialists. In addition to visits to museums, galleries, and other art venues within London, study trips to other cities and sites both in the UK and abroad are key components of these courses and are not charged as extras.

Assessment method
Course work forms part of the continuous assessment made over the academic year. Students must achieve a pass at the end of the first year in order to go on to the second year. In year two, students complete an exhibition project in the spring and have final cataloguing exams. Students must achieve an acceptable level of marks in their end of year exams in the second year to apply for a third year at Glasgow University.
Entry Requirements
You may never have had the opportunity to take a degree before or you may be one of the growing numbers of younger students who want more than a conventional degree path. It is particularly popular with students from abroad, but mature students can also choose this course as an alternative degree path. 2 A levels or international equivalent. Non-English speaking students must have IELTS 7 or equivalent. Minimum age 18.
Venue Description
Christie's Education is provided with teaching spaces including five lecture rooms, and has a museum room, student common room, and Learning Resources Centre which includes a computer room, slide library, periodicals and book library. It is a short walk from Oxford Street, and Warren Street and Great Portland Street tube stations.
