Course Description
This programme traces the architectural development of English country houses and their landscaped parks from the Middle Ages onwards. The social and economic role of the country house and its occupants, an introduction to the history of collections, and the study of painting and sculpture will also be included. A unique feature of the programme is that these studies will take place within a country house environment.

Assessment method
Teaching methods include discussion, group work, student presentations and some lecture input. The emphasis is on participation and active learning. Assessment is by coursework and/or written examination.
