Course Description
The BSc Accounting is a degree with an international flavour set within a strong social science framework. It provides a thorough grounding in accounting and finance and develops critical skills for a wide range of real world professional situations. Accounting and finance are concerned with more than computational skills. Both subjects are central to the way in which management, shareholders and society at large perceive, understand and seek to change and control the nature of organizations, as well as to an understanding of how the market allocates finances to firms. This programme is an excellent preparation for a career in professional accountancy, investment banking, investment analysis and management, management consultancy and financial management. Course content includes: (Year 1) Introduction to Economics; Statistics; Mathematics; Elements of Accounting and Finance; Introduction to Business and Management; (Year 2) Corporate Finance; Computer Based Information Systems; Managerial Economics/Micro Economics; Marketing; (Year 3) Human Resource Management; Organizational Theory; Financial Reporting; Management Accounting.
