UCP Marjon is both well known and well respected. With a £20 million investment into our campus and sports facilities,
UCP Marjon offers a small, safe and friendly campus with everything you need in one place. The campus investment will see a new
sports centre, refurbished student housing and a new entrance and student centre. WiFi access is available for you to take full advantage of the free laptop you receive when you begin your undergraduate or PGCE course.
Centrally located on campus, the Library houses over 150,000 books and 500 print journals over 3 floors. It offers a great place to study, and is designed to accommodate both group work and individual research. An introduction to the resources and services on offer is provided upon joining, to ensure that you can make the most of the facility.
The Library is open every weekday, as well as evenings and at weekends during most of the year. Lifts are available to all floors, a hearing loop is installed at the Library counter, and there is a computer terminal with a large screen and a scanner on a height adjustable desk. A dedicated PC holds the JAWS screen reader software. A team of experienced and friendly staff are on hand to offer advice, assistance and information skills training, and to help you find materials in the Library you can search our web-based catalogue.
A wireless network is available throughout the Library, and there are two IT suites. All PCs have internet access and MS Office 2007 applications. There are also two black and white printers available. SCONUL Access, We take part in a reciprocal borrowing scheme which allows part time students and student teachers on placement to borrow from other libraries across the country.
Media Services are based within the
Library. Technical staff provide advice for using the audiovisual equipment, which includes VHS camcorders, audiotape copiers and over 3,000 videos and DVDs.
A range of reprographic services are available from the
Copy Shop including: black and white and colour copying, printing, document collation, binding and laminations.
