Course Description
The programme is accredited by British Association of counselling and psychotherapy and the CCPE is a member of the United Kingdom Council for psychotherapy. The programme are eligible for membership of the UKCP register, which opens up opportunities in the health services. The programme is delivered in London, and is designed to train practitioners in the transpersonal approach to counselling and psychotherapy. In transpersonal psychotherapy, personal breakdowns and crises are seen to have a useful purpose in that they act as a warning signal, as well as indicating the way forward in terms of change and growth. Once the crisis is over and the mental condition is stabilised, there is a chance for re-examination, thus preventing a recurrence of the crisis. This involves reassessing personal motivation, sense of purpose and the meaning of life. Much of the counselling and psychotherapeutic work done at the CCPE is based on the fundamental principle of building and expanding on a person's strengths or 'qualities', and in helping the person find their natural rhythm in work and at home. At this point the client is able to sense the right direction and to set goals that give him or her a sense of fulfilment and achievement in life.

Assessment method
Assessment is by coursework, involving module-related work designed to integrate theory and practice. The supervision module related to the therapeutic work with clients, and the research methods and dissertation offer the opportunity for in depth study in a research area of the student's choice.

Entry Requirements
All applicants must hold an Honours degree (2:2 minimum), or its educational equivalent, and by the end of the MA course must have completed a minimum of 600 hours supervised clinical practice, and 150 hours of personal therapy. Applications are invited from suitable CCPE diploma course students who wish to transfer to the MA programme in the third year of their training. Applications are invited from experienced practitioners with an appropriate level of training from a recognised training centre. Where appropriate, admission with advanced standing will be considered.
