About this course

Research is centred on understanding the mechanisms underlying the development of airway diseases, in particular asthma, COPD and the rare lung condition lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM); the division is based in state of the art laboratories designed for primary human cell culture work, molecular genetics and cell signalling approaches; particular interest is in positional cloning and association approaches for the identification of genes important in airway disease, and functional studies on relevant gene variants; the division also has a long track record in pharmacogenetics research.
