Students taking this course are prepared to become both practical applied theatre facilitators, and are knowledgeable about a range of arts and development issues impacting on the social uses of performance; students take core modules in both areas throughout the year, and combine theory and practice in preparation for international and UK careers in development and the arts; the course aims to extend and develop knowledge of the theory and practice of development studies and theatre and performance relevant to community use.
Core modules: global inequalities and development; the uses of theatre; making theatre in the community; research methods; dissertation; 1 option module with the centre for global development.
