This degree programme provides training in theatre techniques and performance skills; these can be consolidated through a wide range of practical projects, including our vigorous programme of outreach work and through regular workshops and residencies with professional theatre groups; students also have opportunities to participate in community-based performance projects and in extra-curricular student theatre.
Year 1: Core modules; modernism in the arts; introduction to theatre studies. Year 2: Core modules; performance composition; plus 3 from: modern European playwriting; television drama; modern dance and physical theatre; media and performance; applied theatre practice 1. Year 3: 4 modules from; contemporary European theatre; post modern dance and physical theatre; contemporary British theatre; applied theatre practice 2; theatre administration; dissertation.
