This friendly course chooses productions to see in the local area and studies the texts and watches/listens to other versions available in order to consider the play s themes, plot, characters and style. Learners suggest playwrights they would like to study and the range of material studies is varied, for example in 2010/11 we ve studied Noel Coward, Henrik Ibsen, Clifford Odets, R C Sherriff and Sophie Treadwell. If possible, we try to have a visit from a professional actor or director as well.
