This short course is designed to give you a basic appreciation of the different styles of wine produced around the world. You will learn how to taste properly and how to describe and evaluate a wine using appropriate vocabulary. You will develop an understanding of the factors that influence the style of a wine - climate, grape variety, wine making techniques etc. You will gain the confidence to make sense of wine labels and choose wine to go with food. Tasting samples of 16 wines will be provided to illustrate the main points of each course session. A 3-course lunch is an integral part of the day. In addition you will receive a course manual containing comprehensive and easy-to-understand notes on the topics covered.
