Course Description
We depend on material culture - machines, tools and devices - and interact with each other and the wider world through our material culture. Archaeologists study past peoples through artefacts of material culture. Artefacts have life histories that provide information on past human behaviour. You will consider the theoretical, methodological and practical approaches used in artefacts study, with particular emphasis on stone, ceramic, metal and organic materials.
