Students who are interested in exploring and developing skills in a broad range of textile disciplines. A good course for students intending further study within Art, Craft and Design. This course is NOT for students who want to do dressmaking. The GCSE textile design course equips students with the skills and ability to create, select and manipulate across a variety of disciplines. Experimenting with both traditional textile techniques and contemporary technologies, students will develop personal interpretation to given project themes. Students will be encouraged to relate their own textile explorations to other textile designers and artists' work and demonstrate the ability to reflect critically on the development of their own projects. How will I be assessed? The GCSE course is made up of two units.
