This course requires students to take an active role in the structure and approach to their learning; in the early stages of the course students work regularly with tutors, exploring in depth emerging media practices, very recent scholarly/industry research, shifting audience behaviours, key media-related policies and potential business models; this approach is taken to ensure that students can demonstrate and apply advanced understanding and critique of the changing media landscape and thus are able to work effectively and think digitally.
The course is structured around the study of nascent media practices in order to inform the development of original production practices and content creation; uniquely, the production module is situated in the middle of the year; this is to allow for the development and exploitation of proposals and research for projects in the final stage of studies which can be taken to industry upon graduation.
