About this course

The is course is the only one of its kind in Scotland focused solely on the teaching of scriptwriting for television; the aim of the course is to fulfil the perceived industry need for the development of new writing talent for TV drama, together with a perceived gap in the training of the craft skills of TV fiction writing necessary for placing writers into actual, existing drama slots.

Modules

The modules cover writing for long-running dramas (such as soap opera) which focuses on team based writing processes; developing and writing original TV drama, which focuses on individual ideas and writing; and story and script techniques. There are also research based modules and an independent script project, designed to help students develop an original 'calling card' drama series.
