This course develops the skills enabling you to carry out rigorous academic investigation in the field of technical and vocational education and also apply their knowledge and understanding in the workplace, enabling students to address areas of concern and any development needs in an informed and justifiable manner; students develop an understanding of broader themes such as management and organisation in an education context and issues related to curriculum development and design in addition to specific areas of technical and vocational education.
Research awareness and support skills or, where more appropriate, research methods: field studies; organisational management; curriculum studies; plus 3 options from: research methods: field studies; vocational education and development; the concept and implementation of design and technology; competency-based training in vocational education; staff development and appraisal in vocational education; information technology: the impact on technical education; plus the dissertation.
