Throughout the programme, the approaches to learning and teaching promote the development of a community of enquiry; in turn, this supports a critical, reflective approach to learning and teaching in higher education and the personal and professional development of teachers within their specific subject discipline; writing reflectively and critically about teaching and learning is an important aspect of the course, and are assessed in the 1st 2 modules through the presentation of an academic, reflective journal which explores the students' own practice.
