This programme is designed for the professional development for newly qualified primary and secondary teachers that want to broaden their career opportunities and enhance their prospects of early promotion; the programme focuses on teaching, learning and assessment, and makes direct links to the Teaching Development Agency�s core (Induction) standards and the priorities identified in the National Strategies; the programme also provides a pathway to higher-level research degrees; the programme introduces students to a range of classroom research tools and includes structured, school-based learning that allows them to draw from their experiences as a new teacher and to relate these insights to analysis of current theories and research.
Core modules: Noticing and observing for professional practice and learning; promoting and assessing learning in the classroom; critical study in teaching; optional modules include: secondary educational and professional studies 1 (practice, theory and research); secondary educational and professional studies 2 (practice, theory and research); primary educational and professional studies; primary English; primary mathematics; primary science.
