This programme is for professionals involved in TESOL teacher education, including experienced teachers, teacher-trainers, mentors, supervisors or other people in charge of staff development; this specialised programme provides those who teach teachers, or expect to do so in the near future, with access to an appropriate knowledge-base for this role, taking reference from growing literature on teacher knowledge and learning, and the pedagogies that support that learning; the programme gives students a deeper understanding of what TESOL teachers need to learn, and considers ways of understanding their learning process whilst expanding their awareness of the models of programmes and methodologies that support teacher learning.
Core modules: Critical study; the practice of supporting language teacher learning; learning and teaching in TESOL; investigating language for TESOL; research methods in TESOL; research methods in TESOL; optional modules includes: directed study in education 1; learning and teaching vocabulary; grammar, learning and teaching; assessing language learning; materials development for TESOL; issues in English for academic purposes; Corpora in TESP.
